1999 Tourer Estate V6. From ALL the tips and advice from this forum, Cam cover gaskets changed, new HT leads, new plugs. ALL back together, started lovely, but hissing sound (like escaping air) from, as you look at the engine bay, left hand side.
Now got a spare vacum pipe. ALL 3 vacum pipes are on the T piece which is connected to the large pipe going into the brake servo unit. Have traced the spare vacum pipe from the air intake valve, font right of engine bay as you look at
Where does this spare one I've got go>
HELP PLEASE :o

Me being thick. Have tried to post pictures, can't upload them.
From what I have read. This spare pipe is meant to connect to the brake servo hose, but not the T piece. Can't find where it goes.
Have started it all up, engine sweet. but hissing sound. When driven, feels as if brake servo unit not working. If anyone can remember, when bakes weren't servo assisted. :-/

From thick over50now.
Anyone live local to Stevenage who wouldn't mind me having a look at their V6 engine bay. Worth a drink and I don't mean a couple of tea bags.
Thanks for ANY HELP :(

It sounds like the pipe that goes into the fuel rail - back of the engine, right hand side as you look from the front. If it's that one it has a large U shaped rubber end to it which might still be on the fuel rail.

Thanks to you all.
Rob G. Did find the diagram. Couldn't work out what I had.
Might be previous owners(s) didn't connect it 'cos found broken bit of old T piece inside rubber connector.
So, took the plunge, bought another T piece, connected new T piece in line with other. Seems to have worked, hisses sometimes, but still takes a bit of effort for braking. Perhaps I've got to let it settle, let the ecu re-adjust? :(
Will carry on, it won't beat me YET!!!!!!!

the vac pipe for the fuel rail comes of the icv pipe, the only other bugger of a vac pipe along the right hand side of the engine is the rear multiram servo (it's common for it to break)
also from the brake servo plastic pipe there should be two small pipes coming off that if you get me and i think one has a pipe that comes down and splits off twice (making one of the two go into two) and the other is just 1
also you could check to see if the multiram vac pipes arnt chaffed from rubbing on the aux belt like they were on my 3.0!

Hi everyone, this site is fantastic.
Haven't worked on car today, had to take the other love out. Any way got home and went straight onto this site. Had withdrawal.
Any way, altho I couldn't upload a picture, 2am Omega has got one by Entwood concerning 2am Omega's Burst hose - Blowing air.
Posting 28.2.09 at 22.40hrs
Page 2 of the posting. If you look at the picture by Entwood, slap bang in the centre is a thin hard plastic vacuum pipe coming out of the 'space ship'. That's the pipe I can't ind a home for.
Look forward to any leg pullin. MANY THANKS to 2am Omega and loads more to Entwood :o
