Title: omega 2.0 litre gls dual fuel
Post by: GrahamE on 01 March 2009, 12:21:53
Hi, I have just bought a W REG 2.0 litre GLS dual fuel omega and am looking for advice on servicing the engine.  I was quoted 300 pounds by a vauxhall dealer for a major service of the lpg side, which seemed steep.  Does anyone know what parts need replacing and where they can be sourced ?  I have never done much work on cars and am also looking for advice on how to go about the service.  The car has only done 33K miles and looks in great condition.  I would like to keep it that way.  Does anyone have any experience of factory fitted dual fuel omegas ?  Graham

Hi Graham and welcome to the forum!  It would be helpfull if you updated your profile with your location, it'll save us asking it over and over again!!

If it's a true factory fit then it could well cost that to have it serviced!! Another good source of LPG related info is www.lpgforum.co.uk

Search for "Vauxhall Factory Fit" or "Koltec Necam" to find some images and info to help.

yearly the gas kit should only need the filter changing.

the other one to do is clean the (OMG forgot what they are called) the units that are read or yellow one for each gas injector) they can be stripped down and cleaned but to be honest unless the gas system plays up i wouldnt bother.

Awiting correction from the fellas on the forum :-X

i have had my kit fitted for almost a year now and all i plan to do is change the filter.

hop[e this helps :y

Pretty much spot on Marie. Filter change is the only essential requirement, and a tune up is recommended. Unfortunately if it is a true "factory fit" system it will be a Koltec Necam system, which were never really up to the job and are now notoriously difficult to get parts for. Instead of separate injeactors they have a distributor and it's highly unreliable!
