Title: Universal Lambda Sensors

Current having an on going problem with my 2001 2.6 Omega misfire 1-3-5  have changed coil pack, spark plugs, gaskets and now are looking at the lambra sensor has anyone used a 4 wire universal one and did it worl ok

Never used them and i dont think i would ..... personally i would stick to the direct fit  :y

must have fitted hundreds of universal lambda sensors over the years without any problems but dont think it will cure misfire ?

I would stop replacing things and do a bit more investigation.

If a lambda sensor is misreading the engine management is likely to detect this and put the engine into open loop mode, and flag a fuel trim / lambda sensor related fault code before fuelling goes far enough out to cause a misfire, IMHO. Are the misfire codes the only codes you have seen?

Would be worth getting a code reader that can do live data on it and see if the behaviour of the fuel trims and lambda sensors outputs is normal, and similar between the banks.
