how easy is it to get hold of / fit a duplex system exhaust to the omega ?
-
you might do better having a look on the powerflow website and getting a stainless steel exhaust made
http://www.powerflowexhausts.co.uk/
-
yer always thought of power flow as a last resort , they can build just about any thing
-
depending on your petrol tank
will depend on if you can go exhaust either side of the back
i can't on mine as i have the tank the sites at the back of the car and only leaves room at one side
iwas thinking of welding 2 cherry bombs together and using that as a back box
should sound fun :y
-
mine is like yours when i looked not much room on the drivers side at all

yep
you can only put exhaust's on one side
i might try 2 cherry bombs and if it sounds crap ill try a 3litre back box
and see how that sounds :y
i might try the 3 litre back box as the baffles in mine have gone
-
is there no way of changing tanks ?
-
don't know about changing the tanks
to much of a head ache in my books
plus changing the tanks will probly effect the fuel gauge as i think the tanks on the new type are smaller :-?

.....
you can only put exhaust's on one side .....
Depends whether it a proper Irmscher wheel barrow handle style! ;)

i don't have the room to do that with mine as the tank is off set to the right

Aren't they all? ;) I've never looked under a car with wheel barrow handle Irmscher exhausts, but as Irmscher did them they must fit around the tank. I can't see them going to the effort of making up a tank to suit.
-
i spoke to a mate of mine that makes stainless steel exhaust's
and he had a look under my car and said that i can only go one side
he said that vauxhall changed the tank on newer models
-
my tank is right over to the right there is not a lot of room down that side at all
-
You can get pipes under the tank on the drivers side on the earlier models too, the pipes are ovaled to pass underneath. Specialist only though AFAIK, never seen any off the shelf.

i wouldn't want to run pipes under the tank
its low enough as it is i would hate to hit a speed bump wrong and smack the exhaust into the tank :-/

agreed i aslo looked at possibly squeezing down the right side but feel it will be to close to the tank , hot surfaces and all that .
guess it will just have to be one side or looking into a tank swap . but i will try powerflow to see if there is any way
-
i would say even on one side of the car you could still make it look and sound good :y

duplex box is on one side just one of pipes go between bumper and fual tank. if you dont have irmscher back bumper the exhaust dont looks nice

so basicly it tucks up behind the bumper
is that what you mean

Strictly speaking, for looks only...
Not a genuine twin exhaust system, as it appears to many people.
No performance gains over standard system...
:)

as long as it looks the part and gives a nice exhaust note , the car has enough peformance any way , but i recon powerflow can knock something up that looks , sounds and also gives better flow. and i'm more than happy to put my car up for them to experment with :y

Why not, go for it...
No criticism intended by my previous post...
Many times I have modified exhaust systems on my cars - usually tubular freeflow manifolds, plus systems only running one set of boxes for optimium exhaust flow, reducing backpressure on engine...
Usually end up with a nice rumble...
Let us know how you get on...
:) :y

.................I believe that the thing that makes it possible is:-
either wrapping the pipe that crosses over or
using the same material to line the exterior of the petrol tank.
I understand that the irmscher kit wraps around the second pipe

My old goldie had twin irmscher back box while Rob`s one duplex system- it`s not as hard as you`d think as the side pipe goes underneath that little spoiler lip between the two outlets
