:-[ Before purchasing omega,i found that heating was running luke warm even after a good run.(2.5i v6 cd) :y
Advised garage of this and problem was corrected before picking car up,there mechanic flushed whole system through and found blockage in heater matrix apparently.Heating was great that day,but the following day all was back to normal, luke warm heating. It seem's i can rule out the thermostat maybe.
Could the problem be with the h.b.v(Just one other thing, the luke warm air coming through on fan speed 1 gets colder when turn up higher...)Any Suggestions Please,Many thanks. :y

What's the temp gauge reading when driving along, say on the motorway? Maybe worth reflushing the heater matrix again fully. Are the two hoses going through the bulkhead both hot?

Will check the pipes tommorow paul, the temp on the gauge reads around 92-94,but it does rise qiute fast when stuck in slow traffic for more than a couple of minutes or so,is that normal, around 98 and then the fan comes on.Many thanks 4 the info, will let u know what i find

Yes that sound correct. What about when driving down the motorway does go below 90?

This is classic poor circulation through the heater matrix, the most efficient way to clear the heater matrix is to remove the two pipes in/out in the engine compartment, attach a hosepipe first to one, then the other and give it a good 5 - 10 minute blast, both ways, not forgetting to pump water through the rest of the cooling system until it runs clear. After refilling, run the engine until all the air bubbles have come out thru the expansion tank (normally after its up to running temp) It wouldn't hurt to replace the heater bypass valve, they are not expensive and they are the weak point in the chain.

hi
i have the same problem with my heater, can i flush the system by myself and if yes, how do i go about it?...
cheers

heater matrix in an omega is one of the weak parts.. can leak when old.. and I dont think flushing solves the problems everytime..

Have an occasional problem on my cdx. Heater always starts off blowing warm/hot so never any problems on local trips. Sometimes but not always on longer journeys will start blowing cold after a while. Temp gauge is usually about 82/83 degrees :-/
