Title: gear box

Hi my omega 2.6 auto at times seems to hold onto first gear and doesnt change to second, not always, but you have to rev quite high for it to change, any ideas.

Also sometimes, again not always when excelerating and then taking your foot of the gas, it gets a donk,clunk, like there is some play somewhere, this sounds like it is related to the gearbox, any ideas thanks ;)

I've had a 2.5 auto for a week or so now which also has the 'problem'. I read on here somewhere that this is just a feature used to warm the cats up when you first set off. So, if it only does this when cold, don't worry.

My 2.2 does this aswell on a cold start ... its normal as said to heat the cats up quicker  :y

When you start the car from cold and drive away the auto box will say in 1st gear to help the cats warm up quicker thats all it is don't worry.
