had both whishbones repalced for mot about three months ago,,noticed this morning that both outside edges on the front tyres have worn,, now is this just a camber problem or is it a a trip to some bugger that can do four wheel check

I'd say probably both but I think you're quite unique with having tyre wear at the outside, it's usually the inside on the Omega :y

Did you have the wheel alignment and tracking done after the wishbones were fitted? If not, that will be the reason. Had my wishbones done at the weekend and the wheel alignment and tracking were way out afterwards.

Is the wear over a narrow section of tyre (10-20mm - camber wear) or a wider section (20mm+ - toe wear)

Personally, I'd be making a bee-line for the nearest reputable four-head wheel alignment specialists.
You've either got excessive toe-in and/or over-camber.
You should be able to get the settings corrected for less than the cost of a new tyre!
Then get a new pair of tyres fitted.

...both outside edges on the front tyres have worn...
Mine did the same after I renewed the wishbones. I re-set the camber to the best of my ability but was aiming for zero degrees (can't find where I got that figure from now, it was 5 years ago) which is incorrect.
Unless you're happy to keep measuring your tyres and tweaking the camber, I would agree that a reputable person with the right equipment be entrusted with it.

note four wheel alignment is not the same as full geometry which is what it needs. a typical tyre place does not have the kit or expertise to properly set camber.
