My 3.0 is coming up for 110k miles and is now getting on for 9 years old so I thought it was about time she had a decent service and checkover. Heres my list so far, any comments or recommendations welcome ! Aside from the obvious stuff on the list is there anything that should be greased/lubricated/checked ?
Things I will be doing
Change Oil and Filter
Change Spark plugs (last changed 20k miles ago)
Change Brake fluid
Change Fuel filter (last changed 10k miles ago)
Change Air filter
New Cam belt kit (cam belt last changed at 70k)
New water pump (nothing wrong with it but while the cam belt is being changed...)
Clean Breathers
Brake disks and pads all round (pads are getting low and disks have a huge rim on) - new sensor cable at the front
Things I will be checking
Wishbone bushes (wear and play)
Steering idler (wear and play)
Shocks (for any signs of leakage)
Things I Wont be doing
ATF Fluid and filters - Still changing smooth as silk, if its not broken....
Diff fluid - no problems, probably top it up but thats all
Pollen filter - did this 10k miles ago, do they need to be changed every service ?
Coolant - last changed 20k miles / 1 year ago (its the red stuff)
Geometry - just been set by WIM plus new tyres all round
Cheers

If your replacing the water pump do the coolant as well.

Might be worth doing the leads? Can deteriorate after a while..and maybe clean the EGR valve.

Ah good point about the coolant and the water pump, I will add that to the list. EGR as well, another good point !
Leads were replaced with the DIS pack about a year ago so I wont change this time around.

check the inlet manifold for air leaks and the operation of the Multi Ram system if its a V6 which im assuming it is :y

Still worth doing when time/money allows. I changed mine at around 140k and although I'd not had problems, the ATF was 'orrible in colour & it did make a difference. :y
