I've just bought a 3.0 Elite on a P plate with 108k on the clock for £250 with a misfire/rough running.
I think it's the coilpack/dispack (which one is the correct term?) as its not firing on the off side front cylinder but is ok on all others. I'm just gonna try a new lead first (start off cheap) but I don't think it's that.
Anyone got any other ideas I can look into first that might make my life easier?
I know the coilpack is a bugger to get too and I'm not sure about which one of the 3 it is I phoned my local VX dealers and they ruled one of them out making it ether a 90444184 or a 90514507 part numer. He said it could be ether as he's not sure what year they changed them mine was first registered in Feb 1997 making it a later P reg can anyone point me in the right direction as to which one it'll be. I'm hoping to be able to buy one before I take the old one off.

First thing to do is pull the plug leads and check for oil in the plug wells,if there is oil then this will cause a misfire by damaging plugs/leads/then dispack.If no oil present the next thing to do will be the paperclip test to read fault codes (probably expecting to find a code 19-crank sensor). :y

I was messing about with my user details last week,forgot to put them back on. :-[ ;D.......most regulars probably know where im from though.
I think he means there are 3 possible types to choose from and he isnt sure which one is the correct one. :y
