Title: Tools for cambelt change
Post by: Bumbazor on 20 March 2009, 20:00:16
Got my DVD thanks to TB and watched it through today.
I've already got the cam lock kit and am off to get the cambelt kit and waterpump tomorrow. Might get aux belt too.

I've got all the 'usual' sockets (inc torx sockets), allen keys, mole grips, and torque wrench, but I noticed a large ring spanner used on the pulleys and I can't remember the size. I'll watch it again tomorrow before I change the belt but can anyone remember the size?
Is that the only other extra tool I will need?

30 mm.
But make sure it's an offset ring spanner, ie not like a combination spanner.

30! Yes of course I remember now.

Yeah I remembered it has to be an offset.

I had a cancelled weekend to go somewhere and my girlfriend is going on her hen night so I want something useful to do on my own while it's good weather. I didn't have time to order the kit cheaper as only had cancellation today so going to VX. Don't have TC either and want to do it tomorrow so I'll be paying retail prices unfortunately. (unless someone has a cambelt kit I could buy tomorrow!)
