Hi. Anyone know where the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) can be located on a 2.6 auto? :-? Cheers.

As above, just above drivers kick panel.

I very much doubt its gone faulty though, but if you are replacing, it needs to be from same engine as yours...

Cheers Guys. What I'm up to is to swap one out from a mate's good car that hasn't got a shift problem. Just doing some elimination. Probably just a new solenoid needed. Had it replaced before when I had the same problem about 8 months ago. Did the job then but the failure to shift into 3rd(?) has come back.

It's not the one on the bottom (around your foot). Look further up behind the dashboard and you'll see an aluminium box. Undo 2 plastic nuts and pull it. Rest is easy.
Remember that new engines 2.2, 2.6 and 3.2 have different solenoids and the ECU is not interchangeable with old models.
I suspect that there is a problem with 2-3 gear solenoid or it's sealing. Second thought would be a 2nd gear clutch housing.
