My omega has developed a wonderful problem. Sounds like a tractor, seems to be coming from left bank. Water / Oil OK,runs but ticks over at 500 rpm.
Slow on revs, but will get to 70/80mph, initially wouldnt rev above 3500 rpm.
i imagine ive lost a lead / plug or is it more serious.
any ideas

when was the cambelt last changed - age and mileage?
-
2.5 v6 is meant to tick over at 500rpm :y
-
cambelt changed 113000, now on 133000, former cop car!
tick over seems laboured, did fond small amount of oil round no1 spark plug... seems that i need to change them, but it aint easy to get to them!

I'd still suspect the cam timing. turn the engine to TDC, take the cambelt cover bolts out and lever the cover back to see if the cam timing is ok

Ok how about a bunged up plenum.......Empty a can of carb cleaner and take it for a run ::)

checked timing - all measures up ok!

changed plugs - better but got recovered home.
now got a 1999 cd 2.5v6 in gold for someone to take away for spares / breaking.
would rather offer it here for small sum then dump it at general breakers.
also got ccr500 and cdc2 not fitted.
