Title: Front seats
Post by: Glassback on 23 March 2009, 16:41:54
Hi. I was just wondering if the front seat covers are the same, ie. not handed. I am sure the frames are handed. What I really want to know is can I take the cover with heater pad off one seat and fit it to the other? I know it's possible on the senator, but is it possible on the omega.

Possibly the base  :-/, but the backs have air bags in the side ... which obviously hands them.   :y

No the backs are different on all the models, there's the lumbar support adjusters and the airbag on the later ones. The seat base is the same though :y

You could always slip a separate heater pad in under the leather, either a 'proper' Vx pad intended for the fabric seats or I believe it's possible to buy a generic pad. Take the seat out and have a look at what you already have, a repair might be obvious - it was on both my Senator & Omega's seats.  ;)  :y  :y  :y
They're heavy and make sure you disconnect them following the advise in Haynes manual re airbags & pretensioners.
