Will the cam shaft sensor exhibit similar problems to the crankshaft sensor when its failing, i.e just cutting out and failing to start again without any EML??

Hi Mark, not so familiar with the 4 pot 2.2. (which cant be paperclipped as i'm sure you know) no chance of getting it on a reader?
Seen posts on here about cleaning the sensor itself and the throttle body, think there is a guide for tb.
Hope this helps somehow...

4-pot will start with dodgy cam sensor. Typical symptons are not revving past approx. 4500. IIRC failing cam sensor will throw a fault code whereas crank sensor often doesn`t until it`s too late :y

But the EML light will show with either.. :)

When mine was failing it started to need longer to start or would start and cut out straight away .... only sometimes put up the code P0340 IIRC ... easy to change though :y
