My water leak seems to be getting slowly worse, I am now having to top it up once a week at least :(
It is leaking somewhere at the back of the engine although it isnt the HBV, it is somewhere on the passenger side. I am a bit worried about trying to find and repair this leak as it looks like it might be coming from the middle of the V, possibly thermostat etc?
Any help pn this would be very much appreciated as I am going on holiday soon and the car needs to make it to cornwall and back and dont want to end up stranded down there if it completely goes on me :(
Cheers,
Richard

which engine is this- in particular does it have a short plenum? If so, you can just see in the front of the v (with help of a torch) - enough to see the front of the 'stat area. Obviously the leak could be further back.
Your sure its not HBV or one of its hoses?

Rich, can you pop up say Thursday evening?

It has got the short plenum, 3.0V6. Leak it coming from the back and leaking down the gearbox / oil filter / crank sensor area from higher up. Not long replaced the HBV with a genuine Vauxhall item. Felt all round the pipe etc when I changed the crank sensor but couldnt find anything. Quite difficult to get access round the back of the engine.
Mark that would be brilliant if you have got time. I can come round anytime as I finish at 2pm, so whenever is best for you?

I hope so, I think im starting to get high from the fumes. Quite embarrassing when I park up sometimes when its cold and got a little bit of steam coming out the edge of the bonnet :o
