A huge thank you to VXL V6 for coming over and reading the codes off the 2.2. When first connected it was showing:-

P0170 02 sensor lean
P1700 Gearbox CAN service

So he cleared them both and the P0170 02 Sensor lean came back up again.

Just looking out for the live data that VXL said he would post for more info.

Live data showed an open circuit on the Lambda's so wondering if that has something to do with it. Car was plenty warm enough as the fan was kicking in.

EDIT - To merge the two together.....

2.2 Petrol giving P0170 - Fuel / Oxygen Lean

Assuming Lambda but do the readings point to which one? The engine was up to operating temperature but note that the ECU isn't going closed loop.

Any thoughts?

Also just spotted that both Bank 1-Sensor 1 and Bank 1-Sensor 2 are both reading lean.

Should also add that the CO reading is high (Wellung Can post the figures  :y) and hence is a fail on the emissions test at MOT.

1st fast idle test:-

RPM 2845 Pass
CO 0.003 Pass
HC 34 Pass
Lambda 1.340 Fail

2nd fast idle test:-

RPM 2750 Pass
CO 0.001 Pass
HC 6 Pass
Lambda 1.320 Fail

Natural idle:-

RPM 808 Pass
CO 0.002 Pass
