Title: Camshaft Position
Post by: colin28 on 27 March 2009, 20:39:55
Can you please tell me what the Omega 2.6 V6 Camshaft sensor looks like and where to locate it?

I need to take mine off but have no idea where to look or what to look for.

Thanks in advance.

its next to the oil filter.

On the outside it looks like black plastic clip, with a torx bolt in it.

Down by the front passengers side of the plenum in front of and underneath the ICV :)
Has the ECU thrown a code for the camshaft sensor :question as they very rarely fail on the v6

No but I have tried everything, changed coil 4 times and still says bank 1-3-5 multiple misfire.
all leads are ok.
so cannot be leads, and isnt coil.
So was told to try Camshaft sensor. if not that then it will be the ECU unit itself.

Thanks

This is bloody silly.....cam sensor will affect BOTH cylinders!

Have they carried out a coil test?

keep putting on the diagnostic machine! says 0130
0300
0301
0303
0305
has been saying the same for 6-7 weeks now since I had the gearbox replaced.
Can't drive it because there is no power and engine light flashes.
