Not to clever your mechanic mate is he!
The turbo does not need turning up to work with your chip.
You can wind the turbo up a little, it involves buggering with the waste gate ectuator arm (its so a self contained setup on the diseasel)

i think his turning up the turbo to make it even faster or so he says should this not be done then

It might do a bit but, it already runs pretty high boost....and its no good turning the turbo up unless you can up the fuel delivery on a diesel.....the most it might do is alter the response.

oh right ok ill put my chip in then and see how much that makes im sure ill be happy at that but thanks for your help then

he did ask me if it was a mechanical fuel pump but he said it probley wont be is he corrcet as he did say you will need to get more fuel to the engine

Its an electro mechanical pump.
So mechancial but, the pressure can be varied electricaly based on feedback from the piezo element in the injector.

doesnt mean much to me may do to him il pass it on looking forward to my chip

Leave well alone with the turbo!
Once you've had the chip fitted, you should be more than happy with the uprated performance it gives. I was quite amazed with mine, and still am.
You'll notice a tad of black smoke on pulling away, but this will reduce with time. It reduces even more if you avoid supermarket cut-price fuel - I tend to stick with a local garage when refuelling.
Again, don't touch the turbo mate ..... !

Especially that Sainsburys city diesel, absolute sh@te in mine, and the black smoke that it billows out..........If I have to choose supermarket then Asda's not bad but it's usually Total diesel.

Supermarket fuel same as anywhere else as supplied by BP/Esso and the like!
My friend worked for Esso for years and they supplied a lot of the big supermarkets in the UK! :y

I use Tesco (Clubcard points...) and it doesn't half chuck some sh1te out the back! Its had a coule of tanks of premium on its Birthday and there is hardly any difference for 30 miles then it clears up nicley unless you really wind it up. Doesn't bother me, might annoy the person behind though :-[
