Just a quicky I'm going to get myself a cam locking kit for the v6 and was wondering if the sealey vse130 was ok as eveyone recons the laser one isn't very good. Also whats the differance between the vs130 and the vse130 apart from price.
Thanks

euro car parts had a sail on not long ago, it may still be on. They had a sealey kit for £60 odd. It included the 3.2/2.6 iirc and didnt mention 2.5 and 3.0 maybe thats the difference, however all no here said it would do both "sets" of engines.
Be advised though, i am working from memory which crap at the best of times, so really cant say for sure. I would hate there to be a disaster by using the wrong kit. Sorry cant give a definative answer maybe someone else will know for sure. :-)

sealy products are generally very good, as you said avoid laser tools! they are very poor build quailty - monkey metal in my opinion. only any good for light jobs

i'v got a vse130 when it gets posted back to me from a user on here.
imo there's no difference between the vs130 and vse130 only the price which might be because of quality of the product or something similar
imo just get the vse130 for the price saving, think TB uses that aswell rather than the vs130 :y

Thanks for the replies vse130 it is then. Makes you wonder what the difference is for the extra £100 plus between the kits though doesn't it.

I have just used a borrowed Laser cam locking / timing kit, and I thought it was alright. It certainly wasn't made of monkey metal. the crank locking tool and the sprocket alignment tool are quite solid mild steel , and the sprocket locking tools and wedge are aluminium.
If you are going to use it in a DIY situation and not every week in a commercial garage it should last indefinitely.
Unless anyone knows any other reasons why they may not be up to the job as regards accuracy ect.

Laser kit isn't great but will do the job. A few members have had to return inaccurately cast examples that don't fit at all.
The locking tools in my laser kit are a sloppy fit in the sprockets. Sounds like there's little difference in price so if the Sealey kit is reputed to be OK I'd go with it.
