Title: how many batteries?

can anyone tell me how many batteries goes in the seperate remote locking fob? 1 doesnt seem enough and 2 seems too many

CR2032 = 20mm wide and 3.2mm deep  :y

yeah just the 1 i have had car fobs that the last owner has put the wrong batteries in and made the contacts not fit properly so i've had to pad it out with a carfuly placed bit of card or paper

I took both my fobs apart yesterday and they each contain two CR2032 batteries.

i put 1 battery in and i got the remote locking to work once. i put 2 batteries in and now it works faultlessly.

Glad you've solved your problem!  :y  I'm hoping mine will work faultlessly when my new batteries turn up.  I don't consider it to be 'remote' locking when I have to press the fob against the driver's window before it will work...

Haha mine is the same, with new batteries I might add!  Was thinking of resoldering the remote circuit board, see if a dry joint is causing it...

Further information:  Having just replaced the batteries in both my fobs, as the new batteries arrived today, I discovered that one of the fobs had two different batteries in it.  One was a CR2032, which appears to be the correct one, but the other battery was a CR2025.  The 2025 is the same sized disc and is the same voltage (3v), but it's slightly thinner than the 2032.  I put two 2032's in each of my fobs and they both work, but if anyone is for some reason finding it impossible to get two 2032's in it might be worth replacing one with a 2025.

?? 2032 is a very common size and readily available!!

i bought a card of lithium button cells with 4x cr2032, 2x cr2025 & 2x 2016 for 99p off our local market :y

They need 1 CR2032 each if it is not operating with one there is an issue
