I needed a cheep exhaust for my 2.5lt from the cats back to get an MOT.
A mate who runs a garage suggested trying CES
www.cesuk.com
total cost including fitting kit delivered to West Sussex was £133
Put the car up on my mates 4 post lift and fitted it.
It when on like a dream everything lined up no problem.
it gives the car a nice quite burrble.
My only comment is the tail pipe is a little short.
I am not sure how long it will last but the car has over 200K and is 12 years old so even if it lasts 3 years that will longer than the car.
So if you are looking for a cheep exhaust give CES a go!

good post mate, looking for exhaust at the mo as one of my centre pipes has started to blow and all quotes so far are much more than what you paid :y
-
www.eternalcar.com are also worth a look. My full system came to about 120 delivered although the exchange rate might well have seen to that by now!
Not a bad system for the money and fitted easily although others have not been so lucky.

Yes I looked at eternalcar they came out at £135

as I recall the eternal fitting kit added a bit.
I reused the rubbers which were fine and bought a couple of clamps from Halfords, tight arse that I am.. ::)

gone are the days when you used to get a propper exhaust from GM.
I remember taking my zorst out through the local Vx dealers show room, i did get some odd looks ;D
Mine was propper old GM, double walled, looked exactly the same style as the one it reaplced, they even gave me free clamps :o

am i right in think tunnie then that the omega 2.2/V6 GM Replacement system is not of the same quality it replaces??
my original centre sections are shot the baffles have given up at 130k was gonna replace it for another vauxhall one but if its the same as a tatty cheapo one i might get a powerflow system
-
last couple of 2.2 ones I've seen have appeared to be lower quality than the older ones. No idea about the v6 ones...

Always good to know there is an alternative to the current crop of GM exhausts. I paid 300 for a genuine cat back thinking it was going to be the same. Sadly not. Or looking at it the other way, if they had dropped the price to match the quality then mite not feel so hard done by. It did at least fit well once they had swapped one estate section to match my saloon, the muppets.

see the v6 items here

Surely you seen this TB?
Edit, should add the bookmark is on page 2 of 2. You need the first page. Whoops.

If I was in a financial position to fit a 'longlife' stainless exhaust then you could have the Euro-crap-parts one off mine for free.
I wish I knew where my old car was then I could steal borrow the original GM system off it and go back to near silence.
-
where is the best place to get a 2.2 exhaust from cat back as mine is slowly rotting in the usual places too.
I can't afford stainless i'm afraid
-
i have had quite a few things from ces, their quality can vary and some times just plain not fit. so i would recoment inspecting anything carefully before fitting it, look for pin holes in the welds. but on the plus side - cheap

Vauxhall trade club - 93192223 retail £91/tc £63.97, 93192224 retail £99/ not on tc but trade at £79.60 & 93192225 retails at £89/ tc £58.35 all plus Vat & fitting.
My original Vx lasted 5 years and the new one is ok but the backbox is noiser than the old one - and a different shape.
If it lasts 5 years too I'll be happy :)

GM V6 ones are also not as good as the originals. I put one on about 18 months ago and it is not quiet. i didn't think it was value for money

The replacement I put on the MV6 was identical to the original one. Sadly that was 5yrs ago, and it will probably need doing again soon :(
That MV6 was always have a nice sound to it when working hard - a nice roar without being chavvy, that will be difficult to reproduce I suspect :'(

I bought my Elite with a Powerflow stainless system on it and I have to say that the prospect of not having to mess about with my exhaust system ever again gives me a very squidgy feeling inside. It was one of the reasons that I bought mine and it does sound good - it's got that throaty roar when you put your foot down. If you can afford a stainless system, I fully recommend it!
-
I bought one off Ebay(posted from east germany) for way less than £100 inc delivery as the alternative was a Bosal system for just over 500 euros! or trying to get one from an Opel dealer without TC function.
It works OK and fitted OK. I suspect it was a factory or aftermarket reject as it had had some (serviceable) welded repairs done to it.
