Ever since i've been on this website, things have been going wrong with my car lol... Having said that, there is an absolute goldmine of knowledge and help on here.
Ok, to business! My exterior temp gauge is showing 'F' on the left hand side of the display with no actual temp readout. Anybody know the reason why and how to put it right?

Oops! I meant to write that it's a 2000 facelift Elite 3.0 :D

Temp sensor disconnected?
It's in the lower grille on the front bumper of a facelift.

Cheers VXL, i'll have a look in the morning. A mate of mine wanted to look at my engine and may have knocked it as he fumbled for the bonnet release.

Doubtful as it's in the lower grill in the bumper not the bonnet one :y

Good point, sorry it's been a long day and I didn't read your post properly. I will have a look in the bumper tomorrow and see if it's become disconnected somehow. Any ideas why it might not be working if it is still connected?

The sensors are a common failure and I reckon nearly everyone that owns an Omega has had to replace them at one time or another.
I have had to change three over the years. The good news is they are cheap and easy to replace.

Easy to replace ... middle of the bumper ... :y

Yep, did mine a month or so ago with help from people here locating it. Worth doing as very cheap and easy and can affect the climate control if the weather is cold..... I had a couple of very chilly mornings.....

You know you have just put a curse on yourself now don't you? :D

Sensor is fairly cheap to replace (about £6), and easy to do. Common failure. If that doesn't resolve it, you need to start looking for wiring damage, which can be tedious.
