Title: PAPER CLIP TEST - Code 19
Post by: Shep on 04 April 2009, 09:43:38
I've just performed a paperclip test on advice due to uneven tickover and general poor running.

It showed code 19 - I've looked in the Technical Info section and this apparently means - 'incorrect RPM signal'.

Anyone know what that actually means and more to the point what ,if anything, I can do to sort it out!!!!

Thanks a lot!

That is a failing crank sensor and needs replacing toot sweet!

Easy job and your better off getting genuine.

I should add that given the age of car you will need to locate the sensor connector at the back right of the engine to check its shape....it will either by rectangular or slightly more oval.
