Hi Nic, Have you tried another battery. Looks like the key is making contact, all the time to drain The battery?? As you don't have another Key, suggest you buy more 'Spare batteries' untill you are able to buy another key. These keys are quite troublesome, had problems with mine, like other forum members. Good Luck, in whatever you do.

Trouble is Nicks key is part of the fob but not the same as the facelift ones, the fob is the key.

Hi VX1, Thanks for that info: My keys are Two Button, which is not correct as I have to press the button on my dash, to open the Boot.
The three button keys seem to be quite expensive and a little beyound my pocket.

Turn on ignition, Point remote control to the senser located by sun roof controls, Press and hold down remote control button,The interior light should light up to show system as been programmed OR central locking door buttons should click down and up!

Not sure if thats for a new battery or new remote though on the IR type.

You need tech 2 to reprogram them to a new car, as to the switches - they are a bugger to solder - the 4 pin ones are not easy.

You can seperate the key from the fob then send the fob for a short holiday to have new switches fitted.

Immobiliser chip is attached to the key

Its an IR type, and immobiliser works off the IR as well - no transponders in this type.

Fortunately, it would appear to be easy to bypass immobiliser on these IR types.
