It's not kids, wife or a cat (meow type)
Since having new off side cat converter fitted (done by son) starts up but with whinning noise. After a while, not so bad, but still there. Spolis the sound of the v6 engine.
Read on this site some time ago. it could be SAI. It was suggested to disconnect it. Will this work, where is it and would it cause extra problems. :-/
ADvice please

Have done a search. Looked at Marks DTM Calib Alternator repair. Have had another listen. Could be alternator bushes. Think it might be sussed. Hope so!!!!!!!!!

I had a noisey SAI, but it only lasted less than a minute and then shut off. If it's on all the time, then it could be something else.
Best thing to do is dissconect it and see.
If you're car is the pre-face lift as mine was, I found it easy to get to the SAI connector by removing the small plastic grill insert on the bumper (Passenger side). There was just enough room to get to the connecter.
Apparently the SAI only serves to warm the cats up quicker, reducing emmissions. I left mine disconnected.
I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong. good luck :)

I would put money on it being your alternator, mine is exactly the same but I haven't bothered doing anything with it as it's still working OK. It's one of those jobs that I will put off until it really needs doing.
