Hi all, can any of you wonderfull peaople tell me where the crankshaft sensor is located on the 2.2
thanks :)

Nicely out of sight on the right side of the block behind the aircon compressor bracket (it can just about be seen from below)

Thanks for that DTM, now i have some more queries. Last week had cylinder head gasket and head skim done. Before this i had the mig booked in for oil and filter change on gearbox and today i had this done also.
When the head gasket went my ommisins light came on hasnt gone out since, also the engine seemed to be sluggish on acceleration and when cruising at around 40mph and above seems to miss. It feels as though it is in limp mode or too rich or lean mixture.
The gearbox centre had this on the test and they put the code reader on it and got the codes
P1550 electronic throttle control power management.
P1700 service vehicle soon request
P0340 camshaft position sensor signal incorrect
P0170 mixture lean
P1555 throttle position sensor load signal not plausable with engine load
P0130 02 sensor 1 incorrect signal
P0500 vehicle speed sensor incorrect signal
P0100 mass airflow sensor circuit low input
P0110 intake air temp signal voltage high.
So with all this info where do i start or which do i change first, please can anyone help :-/

Can you redline the tacho or does it stick around the 4500rpm mark
Check all vac pipes and connector to MAF
-
I would start by taking it back to the garage that done the headgasket job and ask them to fix it properly.
-
Are you sure they haven't plugged something in incorrectly, thats a lot of error codes, unless they weren't cleared after the HG failure...
-
You are correct mark, the error codes werent cleared after head gasket done, had planned to do it after gearbox service as both jobs were close together
-
Have just checked if i can red line it and cannot. Revs go upto 4500 then drop back to 4000 and then back up

Back up to 4500 :question If so that`s deffo signs of cam sensor. Still need to get codes cleared though :)
-
Yes rob, back up to 4500. Rev counter needle just goes up and down

I wonder if the cam sensor was not plugged back in ::)
-
Thankyou all, will change cam sensor first then :y

Or do as Tunnie says and check that its actually plugged in before you buy a new one. :y
