Pls can somebody tell me why the alarm seems to go off at different times, some times its fine for a day or two, otherwise i cant arm the system at all, like since sunday the car is unlocked, in my garage as am scared to even think about dealers as prices could knock me dead.

Check the bonnet switch too :y

I go with the bonnet switch, mine used to be fine during the winter but as soon as the warmer weather arrived it would start going off. The only guess I had is that the metalwork holding the switch (or even the bonnet?) is warming up and the expansion is enough to trip the circuit.
It's the easiest one to test, just unclip the connector and see how it goes for a week. Mine is taped up out of the way now after Vx kindly replaced the switch at great cost and still didn't fix it!

Thanks for the tips guys will try the first option as have already tried the bonnet switch, by the way mine is a 2.5 v6 elite 2001, does this make a difference.

Removed powersounder with horn all together, is that alright, would it cause harm or interfere with immoboliser central locking.

Make sure you tape the connector up well that was my first solution to the problem many years ago, unfortunately I didn't know the drain channels were blocked and a particularly heavy downpour resulted in shorting out a number of systems.
A limped visit to VX later they had relieved me of a few hundred quid and to this day the hazard lights don't flash when the alarm is used. Apparently I was very lucky that the diode it took out on the ECU only affected that system.
