33 :-? Do you push it? The only time I've ever seen anything like that mpg from my 3.0 was on a long motorway run, & I zero'd the computer on the motorway. Generally my mpg (according to the computer) is around 22 mpg. It's around 26 at the moment but my trip to Guy's is still keeping the average high.
-
If the kids are in the car then no I do not speed , but if I am out on my own , I have been known to use the sports mode ;D , but generally I am a plodder :o
Take care

Indeed, in my 2.5 I only average that kind of mpg on long motorway journeys. :P Usual around town, and A road driving keeps it to nearer 25 mpg at best. :-X
Mind you I do drive my car without thinking of fuel economy and love it in 'sports' mode. ::) ::) :D ;)
-
My 3.0 V6 gets around 28-30 mpg on a good motorway run.
Around town? I won't even say.....
-
Motorway runs in my 4 pot give around 35-40mpg :y
When I overtake it usually drops bellow ten :o

Mine has been down to 16.x when SWMBO used it for work for a couple of weeks. :-?

You don't need to speed to get average consumption to low 20's
:-?

no nothing what pays a good wage :'( :'(

Last few weeks I have only been pottering to and from work in rush hour traffic ---- 16mpg :o and an average speed of 15 mph ! ::)

Round town an average of 27, on a run, around 34, thats from a 2.5 slushbox deseisal as well. (and no... its NOT chipped...YET) :) :)

My 2.5 petrol, auto, saloon, around town 22mpg, 33mpg at 75mph motorway speed.

I haven't zeroed the computer on my 99 3.0 Elite for over a year and it's sitting at 29.2 right now. That's mostly motorway driving but quite often get ambushed by big traffic jams, not least the bloody Dartford crossing which is 5 mins from my house!
-
good point that , does the computer readout continually monitor the consumption ie if you go for a 10 mile wipe out , will it show a reduced figure ? I know there is another one on there I think it is constant reading , I know that drops if you engage sports made and drive hard ? I am sure one of the tech guys will know :y
-
It averages since you last reset, so the longer that is, the more miss daisy / bo duke you need to influence it.

sorry I am lost now , is that rhyming slang for something ;D ;D ;D
-
miss daisy (driving miss daisy) = very sedate
Bo Duke (dukes of Hazzard) = Give it all its got ;D
-
Ah I see :) I have just reset the display so I will test it and re post as I think its been a while since it was last done , thus giving me a far better reading than is accuratte :D
Thanks JimBob :y

My average for the last 6 months or so is 25.8 (2.5 auto) driving gently but very little motorway miles.
-
mine is average of 16 when im luck not even booting it :'(
-
Omg !!!!!!!!!!! :o
Thought I had a rubbish fuel consumption until I looked at some of yours...
Around town mines averaging between 23mpg and 26mpg and on a motorway run shes averaging 34mpg to 38mpg, again all dependant on my right foot
The only time I dont get the above, if a floor it every where in sports mode, but then its fun to blow the carbs out once in a while ;D

if im not in a rush, you can see me sat in the slow lane stuck at 60mph withe Cruise Control on, i can get 36mpg at that speed, and about 33mpg at 75mph, i have seen her go as low as 18mpg when i have put my foot down, and as low as 16 when driving round town >:(
-
your lucky getting 33 mpg. at the moment my 2.2 auot is averaging 21.5mpg, thats a comnined average of motorway and local driving.
-
33mpg on a fast run, down to 18.5mpg in traffic here. I usually get 24mpg towing the pikey wagon.
-
According to computer, I am currently getting 26.3mpg over the last 500 miles from my 3.0l auto.
Over short distances (ie, less than 20m) I have been known to average single figures ::)

I had a weekend away in the lake district and did just over 600 miles in the 3 days shows an Ave. of 34.2 most of it was motorway driving with cruise on 75 in eco mode so not bad for 3.0 . I had rover 75 diesel before that and got bout 48 on a m way run and before that rover 75 2.0 v6 and got bout 34 so the 3.0 is very good when you consider that.

I normally zero it when I get on the motorway. I normally have a 2 hour plus motoway journey. I get up to 38mpg but when I get to my destination it drops after a bit of town driving to around 32-33. On the motorway speed does not seem to make much difference between 70-85 but puting on criuse at 50 for the roadwords (15 miles) get it right up to 36-37.
Not bad for a 3.0 v6 auto in sports mode ;D

Over an 1,800 mile holiday to south of France, my mv6 3.0l auto averaged 33mpg, which I am very happy with :)
-
i have and can get 43.0 mpg out of mine on m/way and round town and the likes 21.0-31.0 but you got to be a bit of a miss daisy :y
-
3.0 MV6 Manual Estate (Courtney Chip).
27 Mpg in London.
37 Mpg Motorway (77 Mph).
Averages 30 Mpg, rarely drops below 25 with some heavy foot.
-
2.5 Elite Estate Estate Auto, after my 1st 1000 miles i'm getting 28.9 according to the trip computer thingy.
-
2.5 petrol Auto - Just short trips of around 1.5 miles each (taking the missus to work and back). Past 30 miles or so i've averaged 12mpg :-( which seems about right to me.
-
just been and looked at my average and its at 21 mpg. thats a combination of motorway and town :-?

I think i average around 28mpg combined but that can go up to about 35 on t'motorway.
-
25 ish round town, 35 ish on m'ways
-
27mpg on the MID
23mpg actual
about 420 miles to the tank.
-
Your calcs are wrong
Omega tank is 15.86 gallons (72 litres in real money at 4.55 litres to the gallon - UK).
420 miles to the tank (assuming its dry) gives 26.5mpg.....very close to teh mid value (and probably on the nose given the tank wont be empty)

Not according to Mr Haynes or Vauxhall Page 228 (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.reynolds983/Manuals/Omega2002Manual.pdf) They both state 75 litres (=16.5 gall) :y
