Title: where to obtain coil spring from?
Post by: jonathanh on 12 April 2009, 17:30:31
just been out for a sunday afternoon and managed to break a rear spring.  I've used KYB before - so happy to use them again.

Can anyone give me a clue as to an online dealer?  I've had a look at the obvious places without much luck

TIA

p/s/ not self levelling before anyone asks

I have the same problem  :(

According to the MOT guy it seams to be a common problem on alot of cars these days. He failed 4 cars this week for broken rear springs. Sleeping policemen and the number of pot holes around I guess.

Wonder if i could send the bill to the local council  ;)

oh and I've just confused myself.  checking the KYB catalogue, they seem to list RJ5413 for the 2.0 and RJ5414 for the V6, and even a diferrent spring for the facelifts.  Here am I thinking they were all the same....

Try Buypartsby.co.uk - just email your requirement (preferably with the correct part numbers) on the contact page and they will email you back with a price:-

thanks all

managed to locate a pair made by lesjofors locally.  however, looking at them, the thickness of the metal of spring does not taper towards the ends as the original or KYB unit does.

So the question is: what is the quality really like?  are KYB the ones recommended here?

TIA
