Title: flushing the rad

im sure someone said on here that they take off there rad and flush/ soak/clean it over nite with fernox? im due to change the oil cooler tomorrow and thought that as ive got to drain and reflush the coolant why not take off and flush the rad overnite.

but looking for fernox all i find is a product for flushing household rads and boilers. is this right?

there is a forte product which is supposed to be good , esp if you need to flush mayo as you'll need to clean the rest of the system as well, not just rad of course.

just for clarification, cos i had oil in me water, should i just pour the fernox in run the engine for a bit then leave overnite. drain system and refill with 50/50 mix vx antifreeze :-?
