Hi again guys , Ihad a problem recently with sludge pouring out of header tank , have looked in to it by taking cams , heads off etc and r/h/s pistons have started to (well best way to put it ) melt , have located a 2.6 from a 2001 Vectra , is it just a case of unbolting all ancillaries from Omega engine and bolting them to Vectra block/head , thanks again , Rob

I'm no expert but I'd say NO!

See Russ. Put a few words before the NO!. ;D

again, im no expert but i would imagine the bare block would be the same, the sump would be different as would the induction...
mark_dtm is the man on this

I seem to remember Mark saying that the bolt holes for various ancilleries were in different places and of a different depth.

I think it will be OK, the blocks are the same...

There you go...that's what I said :y
;D ;D ;D

all ancils, sump, inlets, camcovers, the lot will have to be changed over.... while it's doable, would be easier to source an Omega lump.
-
what model omega do you have? 2.6 is fly by wire...
-
Blocks and heads are the same....sumps, cam covers and ancillary mounts are different.
Easy enough to sort with both engines side by side.

Not the well documented 'oil cooler scenario' then??? All the best with the work :y
