Post by: DaviesEB on 23 April 2009, 10:47:25
Was in the Garage over the weekend . My Miggy came back with a dead Temp Gauge. Where can i locate wiring. Or is there any pictorial about what connects it.

Both sender units are right at the back of the block in the middle of the V, you want the single terminal sender, (the twin wire sender 'taks' to the engine's ECU)  :y

because the wire has come off the sender unit. It 'earths' through the sender which varies in resistance the hotter it gets. When you find the wire, you can check your gauge is working by putting to to 'earth' and your gauge should go all the way to hot.

Bet they have knocked the wire off the temp sender when doing the HBV.

So two options.

1) Take it back and get them to fix thier own mistake.

2) Remove the scuttle cover and reach down the back and re-connect it (its sat on the coolant bridge at the rear of the engine)
