Title: "Power Increase" after having battery disconnected
Post by: polilara on 24 April 2009, 17:04:45
Is it possible that allways when I have had battery disconnected for a while the nature of the car is totally different. It accelerates better and shifts later etc. Does the ECU "learn" something about the way you drive or do I just imagine the whole thing ? any experience ? Engine is 2.6 (Automatic gear)

Battery disconnected will reset ECU to factory settings...

Pretty sure the ECU does indeed learn about how engine etc is running and adjusts accordinly as it sees fit...

yes it certainly does do that!

the ECU "Relearns" itself upto the first 30 miles i think

Pretty certain the Motronic 3.x.x store the learn values in nvram, so disconnecting battery wont make a difference  :-/
