Let me please explain. I have a VERY small oil leak, small to the point where I don't need to top up the oil for at least 6 months at a time. Low down around or just above the oil filter.
On a mig 11 years old I don't want to throw any money at her to get it sorted as I'm saving for a face lift model.
BUT, the oil lingers on the bottom of the engine and when stationary, it tends to whiff a bit, especially when the engines hot of course.
My question ? Is there some sort of spray, perhaps silicon based, which i can spray to the underside that forces oil just to slide off without sticking or hanging around...needs to last a while of course because I don't want to be hoffing up the car and going under her too often to top it up. Needs to be heat resistant also of course.

Sounds like where my leak is.
Would be interested to hear if you discover the source. Mine drips onto the exhaust manifold I think, and I get smoke whenever the car isn't moving.

I've spent ages on this. Mechanic reckons its a gasket, BUT I can get/feel my way around the cam and head gaskets and i can't find anything. To me, i'm convinced its somewhere around the oil cooler pipes, just above the oil filter but just can't quite find it.
Its not a major bind, just a bit smelly on occasions.
Will be bombing down the Autobahns in a few months (pardon the pun) so if it DOES become major, THAT'S when i'm gonna find out I guess...least i have Road Side Emergency all covered...just to be on the safe side. ??

Both of the cars may have the blocked breather problem.
So clean the plenum and pipes etc
A can of carb cleaner and some effort might be enough as a tempory bodge
