Title: Cars with towbars
Post by: addy on 28 April 2009, 17:03:23
I have had email sent to me from a friend, not sure if anyone else has heard this.

Here it is anyway.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that the legislation has changed for cars with towbars.  The towbar is now part of the MOT so if it is faulty, damaged or not attached properly it will be an MOT failure.

Wasn't aware of this, but they're welcome to check/test mine anytime!

I was aware however, that all towbars must have the 'e' marking permanently and prominently affixed. Home-made contraptions are now quite rightly illegal.

when is a towbar a tow bar?  if you've got one of the detachable thingies - does that count?
