Looked at jpats list, and not quite sure what I should be ordering :-[
Any pointers anyone?
Its to replace before fitting the new box, so getting new gaskets and filter as well

they are very helpful so give them a call & mention OOF & they will probably take your order on the phone :y

I found Jpat to be very helpful and quick in posting out my filter and gasket. When I got it there was only one gasket not the two I needed- I was only charged for one though. I had to use hermatite for the other one.
When I came to getting the Sonax thrust washer I didn't feel too confident I had got all the parts I needed but was fortunate to have a lot of help from an expert on the OOF forum. The exploded diagram of the GM gearbox doesn't help greatly (or it didn't me). If you want a new oil pump you can have mine for cost minus a bit plus postage as the repaired gearbox packed up only a hundred miles later from another terminal problem.
I suspect that things may well have changed since, as there have been a lot of forum members buy their auto gaskets,filters and some thrust washers from JPat. Mine was way before they kindly offered OOF the discount.
Now some practical advice.
First the thrust washer kit is made by Sonnax and is part number 54701-03K described on the packet as Bi Metal thrust washer GM/Isuzu 4L30E.180 and has a large label stuck on "TH180.TWK01". It contains the actual washer and a selection of shims. There is an excellent how to guide on how to fit on OOF. Sonnax website www.sonnax.com.
If you remove the bellhousing carefully then you may be able to reuse the very thin paper gasket between it and the oil pump (approx 11inch in diameter from memory). You could try asking them for one but when I did mine they only did it included in a repair/overhaul kit.
The bell housing on mine was attached with what I would swear were 12.5 mm bolts so I had to use a 12mm "brayed" on with a hammer.
I made a jig to hold my box upright, bell housing uppermost- that helped a lot.

Cheers, just had a quote back from jpat, very helpful, they had missed off the thrust washer though, so shall see what comes back.
Typical bolts! gonna do something with a workmate to hold the box upright.
Then its swap the buggers over.

when i done my bellhousing removal i stood the box up inside 2 old tyres & that held it upright enough so the pump stayed in place :y oh & the bellhousing bolts are a 13mm but have shallow heads so make sure its a hex socket that fits snug :y
