Hi Guys,
Have just acquired an Omega that had the usual ABS/ TC ECU problem, I've sent the unit away to be reprogrammed using a service on ebay and have had it refitted. ABS and TC now work perfectly as does speedo however...
Since refitting the car has been a pain to start, engine keeps on turning but immobiliser light keeps on flashing and car doesn't actually fire up, until you've sat there for ages trying.
I have been told by Vauxhall that as the immobiliser circuit would've been broken during replacing the ABS ECU that it will need to be reprogrammed with Tech 2.
Just wanted to check this was correct before spending out the £68 for reprogramming as I hadn't read about that bit in any of the guides online and don't want to spend out if it's more likely a loose connection somewhere.

doubt it personallly, check the transponder is still glued in correctly/present in the key...

Have been playing with the key today and removed the transponder cleaning a load of muck out of it, strangely the car will now start when the button part is removed and just the blade / transponder part used 1st time, however reattach the button part and trouble starting again.
Guess a new key is on order...

interesting.... Unfortunately i have little experience with this issue. If you can hold fire until after the weekend the big guns on here will be back from the york meet and will be able to advise further i am sure. :-)
Certainly sounds like vx talking out their wrong end again tho...

Check behind the steering cowelling that the immob. ring around the ignition barrel hasn't slipped all the way back. That can have some funny starting effects. My 2.2 has had a few funnies so a square or two of duct tape holding it firm near the middle of the barrel has seen no problems since :y
