Title: also shakes the gear stick, wishbones???

posted in earlier about car shaking most replyed saying wishbones, does this cause the gearstick to judder as well as the car too???

Might have been an idea to post this in your original thread, but anyway....

When mine gets the shakes at low speed (20mph or so), the whole car is shaking from side to side...including the people in it.
So I'd say it's quite possible for the gearstick to be shaking depending on how worn the bushes may be.

The test to see if the bushes are worn is quite simple, place a bar between the wishbone and the chassis and see if there is any movement by trying to force the wishbone away from the chassis.

If you are not confident about checking this yourself, run it in a to a garage. I can't see any garage worth it's salt charging you for this as the diagnosis can be done in seconds.

cheers the gearstick only shakes along with the car at about 50mph. before is smooth and after 60ish is sounds as well, hope it aint a major as i forked 150 quid last week for a new dis pack and then 2 new sets of leads and plugs.
