........
I sheared a couple of mine & had to re-drill & tap them. Perhaps you could try a local tyre bay when they're quiet and ask them to use a bit of oxycetlene! :-/

No it isn't! WD40 is shite water displacer, PlusGas is proper penetration fluid. 2 or 3 shots a day for a couple of days will see you right :y

PlusGas it is then ill pop to the local motor factors tomorrow then :) thanks for the advice

Not THAT kind of stores ;D ..... engineer's stores at work!!! :y :y :y
You're allowed to book out £££££££££££££'s of expensive bits & pieces, but you still need a managers signature for batteries & other 'attractive consumables' .... ;) ;) ;) ;)

Well ive put loads of plus gas on and used a wire brush to brush off the rust off and these bolts still wont come undone
im thinking if i cut the bolts off and then attempt to drill the holes but im not sure if i will have much success!
-
This is my experience:
1) Angle grind the tip of the bolt off so you're not trying to pull the rusty tip back through
2) Penetrating oil
3) Impact wrench (better at knocking the bolts free than hand wrench)
Then you'll find at least two shear. Just roughly drill out and put a regular nut and bolt through (much easier next time).
When I say drill out there's not much room. You'd be better dropping the cats off (about 3 bolts a side). However the cat to manifold nuts can seize and need penetrating oil and a bit of tapping the wrench round. If they're not coming probably best to leave along rather that shear one of these studs. You can start with the studs before undoing the other bolt.
If you drop the cats you'll need new downpipe to manifold gaskets (about £5 each from Vx), part number 90499289. You can get pattern gaskets for about £2.50.
Now there's another challenge ahead - separating the back box. Because there are two pipes you can't rotate it. I found this very hard - there's at least a 2" overlap, 2 pipes and lots of exhaust sealant in there + some corrosion. I'd strongly recommend do the back box at the same time.

if its not to late, managed to get 3 of mine out after shearing the first one off. Clean of the threads best you can and if the bolt moves at all dont just wind it straight out, turn back and forth as you wind it out. It gives the thread a chance to clear
If it does shear off, you should find when drilling out the old thread, that you dont need to drill all the way through as the remaining stud came loose when drilled about half way through leaving ample thread for the new bolt. Mole grip on the thread and wind it out the othe way(which you can do when the heads sheared off the bolt) if the drill does not turn it out for you. Hth

ps. I intended to use a nut and bolt all the way through, rather than re tap. Didnt come to it in the end though. :-)
-
hmm ill go and procure some drill bits then :y
-
done & dusted
after much swearing and a little bit of tech support from a friend i got the job done
i didnt bother trying to undo any of the bolts again after yesterday i just attacked it with the angle grinder and then drilled out the bolts which then eventually come out after lots of drilling
didnt have any trouble with the back box just undone the Uclamps and tuged it abit and it come apart :y
