Just wanting some confirmation really guys (and gals).
Bought myself a (Jan 2000) 2.5 CDX Estate, and I knew the SAI pump was a bit flaky (it used to whistle for about 30 secs from cold).
Just recently though (the last week or so), it has got really bad. When I say bad, it sounds like the pump is about to destroy itself (very noisy like the bearings are shagged, squeaking pulley type sound, etc).
Following the advice from another thread that Google found for me, I pulled the 50A fuse that feeds the pump and all is quiet again.
Can I just confirm that this pump is only used to satisfy the lentil munchers, and that leaving it with no power will not be detrimental to the car itself?
Ta muchly.

Yup, but obviously need to block off the pipes coming out of the manifolds.
