evening all, took the car to see the mechanic today after my mig shakes at 50, anyway he checked wisbones and said they were fine but did find a pair of mole grips still clamped on the wishbone after the last mechanic had forgot to take them off 3 months ago, mad ay, anyway both back tyres are worn on the outside and he recommends all wheel tracking and balancing to put right, what you reckon as it shakes violently at 50 to 60

Mole Grips??? Are you sure there isn't a Trolley Jack stuck under there too? ::)

most amusing. Mate of mine was struggling with fuel filter removal on a 4 pot omega. He wedged i flourescent tube style torch in the suspension so he could see. You can guess the rest. He he.
Suggest a 5 stud wheel balancer, as opposed to the normal cone type.

Ive had a similar vibration through the car ..... just had the four wheels rebalanced and it seems to have cured it :y

Strangely, after the last time the local VX dealer did the alignment on my car they also left a 'free gift' of some mole grips clamped on the wishbone. Gave me a bit of a fright at first, when I noticed it a couple of days later, wondered what was falling off......
Perhaps it is standard practice.... :-?

You might want to try http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/ as it is highly recommended by a lot of members here.
I have personally booked my car for the 30th May; feedback will be provided later on.
PS: can you please update your location?
