Got the A/C regassed today and my Air conditioning appears to have a leak. I took the dust cap off the low pressure valve and it is definately hissing. Also I put my finger on the valve and you can feel a slight pressure.
Is is possible to buy a replacement valve and do you need a considerable number of components?
Answers appreciated as already had two showers today. ;D Its getting like 36 deg C.
Also is the a/c system at all linked to the heater matrix?

Did the people who did the re-gas not check it for leaks before they filled it?

No. He just diagnosed the heater matrix by looking at the car. But I didn't mind paying 10 quid for immediate relief. :-?

I had the same problem when mine was regased last week. The valve was leaking, diagnosed by the garage, they ordered a new one, called me when it arrived, fitted it while I waited, regased the system all for a grand cost of £70. I though that was very reasonable when you consider they charged £45 + VAT just for a regas ( which all leaked out!), and it had to be regased after the replacement valve was fitted. I should mention that the car was regased, and only started leaking when the aircon was switched on.

Thanks. Do you know if it was the low pressure one?

did they put a dye in with the gas?

Sorry I don't, the chappie just told me a valve was leaking never thought to ask which one. Not that it would have made any difference if he had told me ( i'm a bit clueless when it comes to mechanical things, to me a valve is a valve any more info and I just get confused)
