Judging by the tech. section posts this is a common problem could do with getting it sorted.

65,000 miles S reg MV6 3.0 leaking oil onto exhaust, I'm guessing from what I've read on here rocker cover gasket caused by blocked breathers. (?)

Twice I've had to remove plugs & leads when car not running so well as these were full of oil. Runs ok once oil cleared away.

Problem is, oil changes, plugs, locking motors & filters is about the limit of my technical abilty, the missus uses the car most days & wont let/risk me messing it right up !

Is there anybody on here with a garage near(ish) to Stoke who knows this problem who'll do it for a fair price, dont want to go to a dealer who'll just shake his head & suck his teeth !

Thought about swapping car but fairly low mileage cant get anything better for price.

One good thing, mother-in-law refuses a lift to the shops now as everytime my missus pulls up, load of smoke billows out of bonnet, thats saved me some petrol money !  ;)

 Cheers, Steve

If you can do the plugs on a v6 you're half way there. Cam covers are easy :y
-
I would say that its the Rocker gaskets. ( Bet its drivers side) the blue smoke is oil on the hot exhaust,  ;)

Sounds like cam covers to me... PM the pink pooftersLoo Knee or Elite Pete, I'm sure they could do it at a reasonable price! :y :y :y
-
sorry if Ive got the name wrong. :-[ Been to long in germany havent been back long, its them on top of the cylinders. ( isnt Rocker cover the old name for it? )

Nice to see a fellow Stokie on the Forum.

Cam cover gaskets are easy , if I can do them so can you. I'm sure there's a 'how to'. It's not worth paying a garage to do them for you . Just make sure you buy the genuine VX seals and the black sealant.

				A) do it yourself, or

 B) The pink ladies are by far the nearest choice, if you want to palm it off  :y  ;)
