Title: are headlamps on a 98 2.5 the same as a 99 elite?

just rang a breakers for a new passanger side headlamp. they have one from a 98 (S) 2.5, will this be suited to my 99 (T) 3.0 elite?

Your 99 Elite will have HID High Intensity Discharge lamps, as long as the 2.5 are HID's, it'll be suited.  :y  :y  :y Just clarify it's not an ordinary projector as they look similar from the outside.
