Hi thanks for that, a bit of a bummer, was a garage that last done the oil they said they had a problem with the plug, I see why now !!
Does anybody know the part numbers and where to get the gaskets and copper washer for the plug, I have a 2.0l on a X plate.
Cheers

Thanks again, its a wealth of knowlage this place :)
One last question for the night - is the autobox sump under high pressure ? I started the engine and even though the plug is gone there wasnt any oil coming out, will it when upto temp ?
Got long trip tomorrow to pick up a car, so will be towing a bit of weight and dont want to get stranded, will the trailer give the box problems when the oils a bit low. (joined RAC just incase !)
Cheers

it's not under pressure, there's a vent tube at the back of the engine. Your fill plug is also you level plug, so when your engine is running you're oil level should be level with the plug. I'd be surprised though if nothing at all came out. :y

Hi, Where's the vent tube at ? I wonder if I can top up the box by pouring oil down that :D

At the back of the engine bay.
And no .... you can't top up with it! ;)
