I'm struggerling on with my Omega but things are getting worse. Can anybody tell me how to wipe the ECU of fault codes? I thought if dis-connected the battery they went but I am unable to clear any codes. I'll up date my other thread with the details. It's a 95 3lt elite if that makes a difference.

Need a code reader.
For most engine ecu fault codes, code will disappear shortly after fault resolved.

disconnecting batt will do bugger all excpet make you reprogram radio, windows, and roof

How do you know what codes you've got & that they haven't been erased ...... paper clip test? If the EML is on, then there's a fault. The only fault light that requires a reset after the cause has been fixedis the airbag light, all others will put the light out when it's been fixed.
must type faster and more concisely :'( ;)

This is gonna baffle me for life I think. I've been using the paper clip technique at the mo. I can't believe I have 11 codes

69 intake air voltage low
19 incorrect rpm signal
94 hall sensor voltage hi
49 battery voltage hi.
144 immob no signal ( still starts???)
57 idle air control valve volt low
21 TPS volt high
129 EGR feed back volts low
133 intake manifold valve2 volts low
71 intake air high volts
73 maas air flow sensor low
I've just checked the alternator out put and it's a steady 14.2

If you have replaced the crank sensor / or are going to i'd discount the MAF codes, I would imagine the immobiliser code is historic as well.

Prior to me un plugging and removing the plenum the only 4 faults I had were
69 intake air voltage low
19 incorrect rpm signal
94 hall sensor voltage hi
49 battery voltage hi.
All the rest appeared after I put it all back together after replacing the dis pack

Is the ECU plug clean, dry and well seated?
-
Yep. I've checked the plug. I even opened it up to see if there was any obvious burn/damage. I've been looking at pictures of the loom. I think I might well have to remove it from the car and check all the wiring. Hmm sounds like a fun weekend :'(

This lot of code's sound like a faulty ground.
Check all your ground points and clean them back to bright metal.
Then re-check for codes

It might be worth checking the various earthing points before digging too deep.
EDIT: I'm too slow!

Would that cause the 19 crank sensor?
-
evening Chris
Yes it would
0- problems will create all the faults listed and more

Cheers guys. I know of one of the earth points it's just above and to the nearside of the dis pack. Where else do they touch down?
