Title: Help please eml light

my 2.2dti overheated today as ive lost coolant somewhere,topped up and now eml light on and car lacks power, also temp now wont reach normal temprature runs cooler,can eml light be linked to overheating or coincidence,also i want to clean emission system egr etc what needs to be done

how badly did it over heat? Did it run for a long period or did you stop straight away?

is the coolent level the same this morning, since you topped up? I presume you have not driven it since re fill.
Check the colour of oil on dip stick.

Not much experience with diesels though.
