Hi,
I want to tighten the steering box by 1/4 turn (as advised by TB recently), been looking for pictures/instructions but cant find much , what I have found is the following advice. Can those who know take a look and see if this is right . In looking through various forums there seems to be some doubt about the screw being turned clockwise or anticlockwise but clockwise seemed to be the direction people were steering towards
loosen the nut on the top of the steering fluid box and turn the screw its holding clockwise then tighten nut back up :)
When you adjust, make sure the steering is nearly on full lock, otherwise you are taking out the play in the centre where it's worn most and it will lock up when you turn the wheel.

I've done this a couple times now but not on a Mig. I have done a Carlton which is pretty much the same. I do it like this
Jack front of car up and support on axle stands
loosen lock nut on top of box and give the adjuster a quarter turn inwards. (clockwise)
Now without the engine running turn the steering from lock to lock you are looking for any tight spots caused by the adjustment.
If you not happy with the play in the steering do another quarter turn on the adjuster and repeat the procedure. You can do this as many times as you like.
If you find you do have a tight spot back off the adjuster a quarter turn.
