Title: Acceleration Whistling
Post by: stevejspm on 10 May 2009, 21:16:07
Took me new V6 for a decent run today....bloody hell, its faster than my previous 2.9 Volvo S80. One thing I noticed though, on hard acceleration there is a real loud whistle that dissapears when you let off the gas a bit. My thoughts are air vacum leak somwhere. Any ideas anyone?

You would really need to search for it.  Brake cleaner/carb cleaner in a spray can around the various joints/seals can be handy.  Change in engine note indicates a potential source of the problem....   :y

Multi ram opening up ?   Is that possible.

Mine whistles, kinda like a turbo but over 4500 rpm or so.

Exactly the same as mine! I thought it sounded pretty cool at the time!

well if it is the Multiram..it IS cool. Whistling gets rather high pitched if you're pushing the gears.

2nd gear with Sports button enabled...and hang on.
