Title: Discoloured Head Lights
Post by: tillers on 14 May 2009, 18:54:17
Hi all.
I have a 97 3litre elite and the headlights (pre face lift) are beginning to discolour.
Is there any way of cleaning them up?
If not, do the later headlamps, with like the golf ball in, fit.
I did see a similar question on here but didnt fully understand the terminology.
Thanks

Hello mate, the simplest way is to give the glass a good old rub with some t-cut or similar. Add a bit of elbow grease and they`ll come up loverly! :y

Aye I use G10 cutting compound and it worked a treat.

don't bother trying to polish a turd ;) - just buy some mini-facelift (post late 97) 'projector' headlights (the ones with the golf ball ;D)

they are much better and a few breakers on here might have some or you can buy new (pattern) lights from ebay etc :y

ps: be carefull with second hand as the internal plastic adjusters are brittle and snap quite easily (especialy in the post!) :y
